Platform Access and Reservations

Our platform offers a single point of access for everything at the resort in Bethlehem. Through the online system, you can check real-time room status for the 21-room Metcourt hotel, select a category - Classic, Superior, or Special Assistance - check rates in Rand, and secure a booking with immediate confirmation. We sync directly to the hotel desk, so availability updates as soon as things change.

Promotions and gaming campaign info live in their own area. We run rotating gameshows each week, regular slot events, and table promotions. These load automatically so nothing is out of date. Members track loyalty points through their online dashboard, but most programme features you still need to confirm in person at the front desk or on the casino floor.

Location, Regulation, and Layout

Frontier Inn and Casino is on Johan Blignaut Drive, right beside Dihlabeng Mall in Bethlehem. We’re the only licensed casino in town, regulated by Free State Gambling and Racing Board. The Peermont group operates the complex as part of their national chain.

The building is styled after an old frontier town, with sandstone walls and an atmosphere that leans into the “last stop” vibe. Travellers to Clarens or Golden Gate Highlands National Park often pass directly by our doors - it’s a convenient spot off the main road.

Inside, roughly 152 slot machines and several table games fill the floor. The Metcourt hotel stands within the complex, next to the casino and dining venues, all under one roof with indoor hallways connecting every section. Restaurants, bars, meeting rooms and family-friendly spaces are organised so you rarely need to head outdoors between areas.

The Gaming Floor

We divide the casino into smoking and non-smoking zones. Most of the space is set up for slots - these are grouped by betting limits and machine type. Table games like roulette, blackjack, and poker only run with staff when demand is high, mainly evenings and weekends. That’s when the tables really come alive.

Payments for chips and credits are processed at the casino cages. You have several choices:

  1. Cash in South African Rand
  2. Visa or Mastercard
  3. Instant EFT, either via Ozow or SiD
  4. Direct transfers from South African banks

Our payment systems fully meet safety and anti-money laundering standards set out by national law. When larger amounts are involved, our staff will always complete identity checks at the cage itself. All arrivals at the doors are checked for ID or passports so nobody under 18 gets onto the gaming floor.

Regular promotions fill the calendar. Gameshows take place in the main area with participation open to active players - there’s a different one almost every week. Slot tournaments often last several days, and results are posted on digital boards all over the casino.

Hotel and Room Choices

Booking a room online is a step-by-step process: pick your dates, select the room type with prices in Rand, fill in guest details, take a quick look at the full cost, confirm the booking, and we’ll send out a reference number by email.

Rooms vary by space and what’s inside. Classic offers standard layouts: either double or twin beds, air con, satellite TV, and bathrooms fitted with both a bath and a shower. Superior gives a bit more room and upgraded furniture. For guests who need step-free access, Special Assistance rooms come with mobility aids and adapted bathrooms.

Power in rooms works on a keycard system - pop your card in at the door and the lights turn on. Wi-Fi is available but you’ll get the login details on arrival at reception. All connections go through the main lobby network.

Eating and Entertainment

Golden Gate Spur is our main restaurant, focusing on steakhouse favourites all day and evening - you can book via reception or through our booking site. For something different, Beef Baron offers a shift in menu and style.

Coachman’s Saloon next to the gaming area is both a bar and a live entertainment spot. Here we host karaoke, occasional comedy, and music sets. The schedule is up on our events section and is updated every week. For quicker bites, there’s Munchies near the casino - staying open later than the big restaurants for those grabbing a meal between play.

Younger visitors head to Magic Company arcade for video games and activities. Little Rascals kids’ zone opens on busy periods with professional supervisors; parents sign registration and leave emergency numbers to use the service.

Direct Contact and Info

For assistance, call the main number +27 58 307 6000 during operating hours - this connects to the switchboard for all departments, including reception, guest services, and changes to reservations. Fax is up at +27 58 307 6001. The official website, frontierinn.co.za, divides all details by accommodation, gaming, dining, events, and contact sections. Our Facebook account, “Frontier Inn and Casino”, posts news about current promos and events.

Specific department email addresses do not appear online; instead, reach out through contact forms or the main line and we’ll route you.

Responsible Play Standards

All advertising carries the legal South African message “18+ only. Winners know when to stop. 0800 006 008.” which directs to the National Responsible Gambling helpline, running round the clock.

Staff are specifically trained to watch for problematic betting behaviour. Anyone can ask for self-exclusion at the management office - this is a face-to-face process with full paperwork.

Limits on spends or play-time can’t be set inside the online platform. We don’t run pre-loaded player accounts for gaming - the casino is walk-in only. The loyalty scheme is optional, and doesn’t restrict access to any of our areas.

Practical Notes

The resort sits right at Bethlehem’s entry point. Parking is free for both guests and day visitors, without need for pre-booking.

Standard check-in starts at 14:00. Check-out by 10:00. If you need early entry or late departure, reception can help if there’s space; meanwhile, luggage storage is available if your room isn’t ready yet.

Casino hours are extended every day. Table gaming varies by day and season with more staff on weekends and over holidays. Slot machines work as long as the casino is open - even with light staffing.

We don’t offer currency exchange on-site so banking services in central Bethlehem or Dihlabeng Mall are best for foreign currency. ATMs inside the resort provide South African Rand only.
